    The Apple payout

Does the agreement from Apple to pay users back for their children racking up bills due to buying apps, unbeknownst to them, affect you?

Sadly, it doesn't affect me but I will say they didn't ask me for my p***word yesterday when I bought an app for $9.99. Apple said they put a stop to that and will now ask for a p***word when buying an app or in game enhancements.

I also wonder if it's going to cost the more than they project, regardless of the fact that it's a drop in the bucket for them.

I didn't know that they did that. I have gotten money back from Amazon for the same reason, because they don't ask for the p***word when they download content. It always asks on my iPhone though, so I've never had that problem.

    Re: The Apple payout

It was on the news yesterday, with Apple reportedly saying they have agreed to pay back at least 32 million dollars to users with children who downloaded content without their parents consent.

I have found that if I download something within a certain time frame (Apple said it's 15 minutes) of putting in my p***word it doesn't ask for my p***word again. They said they have put a stop to that, as well, but yesterday it didn't ask after I put in my p***word. I had to enter it because I changed accounts. I didn't have to re-enter my p***word to download an app for $9.99 so, they may be paying out more than they originally anticipated.

However, at least they are willing to do so.

I've never actually bought anything by accident, so no, it doesn't affect me. Sadly, there are apps and things I never paid for, like TeeVee 2 or the plethora of games I've wasted money on. If only there was a way to convince them it was my non-existant child who purchased those...
